Red River Acres

A peaceful 70-acre riverside campus where childhood slows down, wonder awakens, and learning feels like home.

Red River Acres is more than a property; it’s a living, breathing classroom. Nestled along the Red River in Moorhead, this 70-acre homestead offers woodlands, meadows, gardens, and a historic barn classroom that invites curiosity and peace in equal measure. Here, children roam, create, observe, and grow in a setting that feels untouched and sacred.

This is a place where children feel safe, inspired, and free to become their truest selves.

Woods, meadows, riverside trails, gardens, and open spaces for exploration.

  • Historic Barn Classroom

Restored with warmth and intention, a gathering place for learning, art, and story.

  • The Red River

A slow-moving natural backdrop offering observation, ecology lessons, and quiet reflection.

  • Four-season learning spaces

Outdoor shelters, fire circles, and flexible indoor gathering areas.

Woods and Wild Trails

Our woodland area gives children a safe, secluded space for adventure and imagination. Here they learn tracking, mapping, shelter-building, forest ecology, and the quiet skill of respecting the land. The trails weave through changing seasons, becoming an ever-evolving classroom of color, sound, and life.

Meadows, Gardens and Growing Spaces

Open meadows allow space for running, group games, picnics, and seasonal exploration. Our gardens offer daily hands-on learning, planting, harvesting, composting, and caring for creation. Children learn where food comes from, how ecosystems work, and how small hands play a big role in tending the earth.

The Barn Classroom

Our historic barn has been thoughtfully prepared as a cozy, flexible learning space. With natural light, rustic textures, and room for art, stories, and community, it serves as the home base for all three programs: preschool, homeschool enrichment, and summer camp. Whether we’re painting, reading, journaling, or coming together for morning circle, the barn holds the heartbeat of Renewed Roots.

The Red River and Our Rolling Stream

Wrapping gently along the edge of our land, the Red River offers a peaceful rhythm to our days. Children safely observe wildlife, study seasonal changes, sketch landscapes, and learn about water ecosystems. The river and our rolling stream teaches patience, respect, and a deep sense of place; lessons that become part of who they are.

Our campus is intentionally structured with safety and visibility in mind. With clear boundaries, slow-moving roads, defined group areas, and trained staff, children are supervised yet free, supported yet independent. Our space offers the perfect blend of wilderness, comfort, and secure exploration.
